Not in STL's best interest to trade one of their only dependable centers for guys that wouldn't crack the lineup. There's a good chance Stastny will be re-signing in STL after this season.

The Schmidt trade could help MTL but I think it's risky to sacrifice your 1st rounder and hope a guy that's averaged 16.5 TOI can play top pair minutes against the best in the league. He is entering his prime and has offensive instincts, so it's not all bad, but I don't think he's a top pair guy.

I agree with both statements. However I only have Schmidt playing top 2 so he's with Weber. That could be changed. As for Stastny, St. Louis probably shouldn't trade him. Just a thought for Montreal. I'm completely okay with screwing St. Louis over (just kidding, only said that cause I'm a Hawks fan). Haha
