While I still think Reinbacher will have a great career in the NHL (and that the Newhook trade wasn't bad at all), I thought it would be cool to see who we could have picked if we accepted the Nashville offer of Askarov + 14th + 24th, along with the picks we traded for Newhook. Here's how I would have liked our drafting to go
14th - Matthew Wood
24th - Quinten Musty
31st - Micheal Gulyayev
37th - Andrew Cristall
In this scenario, we could still pick up Fowler in the third round and would have him and Askarov as our two top prospects. While I still think going for a game-breaker like Michkov or even a Leonard would be the best move at 5th overall, I'm excited to see a Reinbacher and Hutson pairing for the next decade
