It's a bad idea to give long term deals to people who are on the decline. I would argue that Tom Wilson and Ryan O'Reilly is in that category.

A declining Tom Wilson is not the same value as a William Nylander at his peak.

I wouldn't devote that much money to Ryan O'Reilly for 3 years.

That money would be far better spent strengthening our defense

I also wouldn't bring Freddie Andersen back to T.O.

Buy out Murray or pay up to dump him on someone. $8 million is a lot of money to ask teams to eat. Particularly Arizona. Even if you wanted AZ to buy him him out, there's better ways for them to spend $5.333 million for a fourth round pick.
Same story with Brodie. I would imagine that none of the bottom feeders with cap space to spare are going to be excited about picking up a UFA and paying him $7.5 million real dollars without an incentive.

TML please stop this - AZ is not going to take on 8m cash hit to help you gain cap space, they have no floor issues at all - currently 4 mil under with 9 spots to fill and 5 RFAs to sign. tossing a late pick is nowhere near enough sweetner. bite the bullet buy out.
