Yeah feel like this would be really hard to say no to. Having Mac Kuzy and Newhook down the middle would be crazy

Considering how far out that player in the '23 first round would likely still be from being in the NHL with no guarantees on them making it however deep the draft is, strengthening for the current window makes sense under these circumstances imo. It's not like Kuzy is a slouch however poor his season may have been this year. I'd have money on him bouncing back. It's also decent for the Caps for a guy who wants out.

Theres no world where Kuznetsov is a 1b anymore. He hasn't been a ppg player in the past 4 years. He scored 7 even strength goals in 81 games. Now maybe you think theres a rehabilitation or that he's been bad because the caps have been bad but rehab projects even at 50% dont get a 1st and a 3rd.
