I think that it will be impossible to do something about Jeff Carter except buy him out, but that doesn't change his cap hit, so I have him here in the IR list.
I think that it will be almost as impossible to move Granlund without sacrificing at least one significant asset or draft pick, and Pittsburgh has few enough of those that I haven't tried.
Frankly, if I were the incoming GM, I'd do something drastic and probably unprecedented, like trade my 2025 first for a 2023 second.
Plenty of cap space to sign the goalie of your choice -- whether it be to re-up Tristan Jarry, or find somebody new.
This strategy is much less drastic than trading away Guentzel, Rust, etc. One thing that I haven't done here is attempt to accommodate Jeff Petry's rumored desire for a trade. Let me know what you think, especially if the line combinations don't work.
