The signing of Severson and acquisition of Dube are good selections but with the way Mittelstadt has redeemed himself over the 2nd half of the season - and he was already a favorite of the coach and his teammates - I think the notion that he'd be traded is now slim at best. It's probably got the Sabres thinking of extending him this summer before he may raise his value next season with a full year of solid performance like he's had over the past 30 games. If Sutter departs and Treliving keeps his job as GM, I do think that Olofsson might be more appealing to the Flames because they've had problems this season with offensive production and on the power play, two areas Olofsson could help. Dube has the speed and a better 2-way game that would fit the Sabres.
There's no way that the Sabres healthy-scratch Jokiharju - at a minimum, he's relegated to the 3rd pairing or if Johnson excels in training camp and looks NHL-ready, the Sabres deal Jokiharju.
Even if the Sabres may very well go that route next year, I'd be very worried if they relied on a Levi-UPL tandem.
