Description
1 year deal for Dubois. Signs an 8 year extension as soon as he’s allowed. Makes it a 9 year deal.
Congratulations Winnipeg on your underwhrental return for Dubois at next year’s trade deadline from a team who knows he’s not extending there.

Still tons of cap space to add. Or to activate Price if he’s healthy (in a year where we’re actually trying to win).

I'd argue that with this new info some habs deals have gotten worse the more and more Dubois gets linked like sure but you run risk of overpaying him as a ufa and might be stolen away with the right team and cap (5% ain't nothing) so we'll happily take the rental price and watch as hab fans complain they didn't pony up for him

I've said it many times here before and what Jets fans don't seem to understand is that PLD and Hughes are in complete control on this.

    1. If the Jets look to make a deal with ANY other club, that club is going to ask to speak to PLD before any deal is finalized given the rumors of him wanting to come to the Habs. No team is going to give up what the Jets will be looking for if they'll only be getting PLD for one year and then lose him for nothing in return as a UFA.

    2. Given the point above, and the fact that Hughes knows that the Jets are desperate to at least get something/anything for PLD....he can play the waiting game and then low ball the offer. The longer the Jets hold off....the offer starts to become lower and lower.

If/when Hughes pulls off this trade it will be considered the steal of the century

Don’t need to overpay when the player wants to play here. We’ll find a number that works for both sides.
A 1-2 punch of Suzuki and PLD for the next decade is gonna br awesome!

Yk we can still trade him as a rental and based on his size and game would be a damn good rental deal if ror gets a first and decent prospect then the jets should be able to get a similar if not better package that fits their needs better than a purposeful low ball. Hey you do you if you want to hope he sticks to his word and signs a deal as a ufa go right ahead, definitely gonna be a bigger cap hit as well as contract structure

Many Jets fans “believe” that Dvorak isn’t a good player. Yet most of those who hold that opinion have also probably not seen him play more than 10 games. Probably many not more than 5 games.
