I dont know if this is an unpopular opinion. But Holmstrom just isnt a player who will become anything great. There is too much hype around this kid for what? Dude has 5 points in 42 games. He should never become an nhl starter for the isles.

I think Holmstrom will be a good 4th liner in the NHL for a long time, I agree that the hype is too much though.

He gets the benefit of the doubt for having 5 points in 42 games when he’s played with barzal, horvat etc.. other young players on the isles with flashier skillsets get criticized when they go 2 games without a point..

I don't think he has that much hype. With that being said I think he makes some smart plays with the puck and is pretty responsible on the defensive side of the puck for a young player. I don't think he will become a first liner, but I could see him sticking in the future as a bottom 6 forward.
