Meier - Canes

Canes might do this as long as they know what the extension is. However, doubt they pay Meier more than Aho ($8.5ish). The Canes remain with two needs / a 2C and defensive depth.

I like Meier, but im not convinced the Canes are REALLY in on him.

I can see the Canes finding another solution that doesn't cost as much either. Y'all have done a good job of not overpaying. But, this would solidify the core if Meier is willing to stick with $8.5m but a very likely chance to compete for a cup for at least a majority of the 8 years.

I think that is a good place to start if I'm SJ. But, using Fiala as a comparison (and I realize no two situations are ever exactly alike), I think the Canes would negotiate the prospect(s). In this case, neither is signed, but we're at the table. But in deference to Caniac555, I'm not sure how much interest they have at this point, but I bet they are taking a look at least.

Yep, I think we wouldn't mind an extra pick if you want to take out Blake. But, I'm not sure if y'all would be willing to give that all up. I think this all relies on Meier signing an extension at $8.5m.

Can't say you're not being reasonable. Some Blues fans are wanting a package close to this for Tarasenko as a rental.
