Hmmmmm. not sure i love or hate this deal.

If TB does this and the Cap is 83.5 next year this leaves TB with 15 NHL contracts 5 of which are RDs (if you consider Myers a NHL contract) and 8.4 million Cap space or 14 contracts and 8.625 if you don't. While completely decimating any draft capital they have.

A pick/prospect might need to be swapped, but Barabanov and Benning(especially if there's some retention) would be great adds for Tampa. Something around Foote, '25 1st, a 3rd and a prospect should at least be in the ballpark. S.J. gets a 1st(albeit a little ways off), a young dman, an additional prospect and early to mid pick. Tampa gets the middle 6 winger with term that they need(at a good price), and good depth on the blue line for at least a couple more years.

The value is fair but I'm not sure I see Grier doing it
