Description

-This top line looked good together in preseason

-Tavares is already playing well and always clicks with Marner

-Malgin and Nylander had good chemistry in preseason and Kampf is playing good hockey right now

-4th is hard hitting and gritty could flip Simmonds in from time to time depending on opponent can flip Kerfoo/ Kampf in critical shutdown moments.

-Mete has been playing well while in the line up nothing flashy but solid.

-Kral had a non noticeable first game which for a defense perspective is good. (More just a placeholder)

- Holl and Engvall can be casted away into the shadow realm for all I care, especially Holl he is terrible out there.

The defense would change once Lilly and Benn are back something like:

Rielly-Brodie
Sandin-Benn/Lilly
Giordano-Lilly/Benn

But this team needs to do something and Holl and Engvall are not the answer.

I have to ask why do people keep putting Jarnkrok with Matthews. I have nothing against Jarnkrok but he hasn't shown me enough to earn a roll in the leafs top 6.

I agree that a change is needed but I think fans are over thinking it.

I rather see the leafs run with a top 6 like this

I would want to see this tested over 10 games. If it works keep it that way for the rest of the season, if it doesn't try something different. Maybe by then Jarnkrok will have shown enough to get a chance at the top 6

Kral made a couple of mistakes, he could’ve blocked this one guys shot but instead Just stood there, then La scored. Not a big fan on Kral.
Mete is good but not so great without the puck.

I actually don’t mind this lines either.

Jarnkrok has played like he should be in the press box. He's on pace for 9goals and 9assists this year, if that will get you a shot down the road in the top six it's going to be a long year.
