Coming off a 27g 50p campaign playing with barzal and parise wahlstrom gets the batherson/farabee contract.
Barzal misses a game for personal reasons yet puts up over a ppg again and cracks 20g again as well with 21g and 83p in 81gp. Partway through his resurgent season he signs an extension as the team is now willing to pay as the production is there but he doesnt want to drop off in the 2nd half.
Bellows struggles to find consistency and ultimately takes that LW4 spot for good as a very incomplete physical player who can score a couple. He adds some scoring touch to a line thats in desperate need yet doesnt experience a big drop off in their physicality.
Martin plays on and off in the 1st half with ross before getting injured. Bellows takes that spot and runs with it. Martin decides with just 1 year left on his deal and probably sitting in the press box every game to call it quits a little early. He gets a job with the organization post retirement.
Skarek finally has a good season in the ahl and is probably ready to become the backup but extra cap space and the value of great goaltending come together to find raanta in that spot.
Holmstrom following a good camp (in 2022) makes the team from the start but cant find consistent playing time with the logjam upfront. He shows enough during the season and following another good camp (in 2023) gets himself a spot of his own.
Raty has a solid 9 games in the nhl at some point but has a great D+2 year in bridgeport. Given all the Fs and his slide eligibility he doesnt get a full time callup but solidifies himself a spot on this team.
Dufour is sent back to bridgeport for a 2nd season with the hopes he can take over for palmieri next year.
JGP ends up on LW1 bc raty cant play W according to lambert, nelson is much better at C and JG is the most versatile of them all which makes him the candidate to transition the best. Hes the ultimate glue guy and should fit very well filling in the gaps on that line, kinda like palat did for point and kucherov. He can also take draws for barzy as an added bonus.
Bailey plays the first 7 games to hit 1000 but struggles to find cohesion with others as well as a maddening lack of effort. Lane has enough and sticks him in the press box to ride out the contract.
At the TDL the team was in the hunt for a WC spot but not guaranteed anything so they didnt buy. They didnt sell either and looked at mayfield/varly as the TDL additions. They ended up making the playoffs and winning a 7 game series in round 1 before falling in round 2.
