Punt the Defense till text year

I'm sure the Isles are definitely into moving Dobson.

Once the playoffs again this year i could see them wanting to rebuild

I guess anything is technically possible, but the opening move of a rebuild usually isn't to trade a 22 year old, top-4 RD with a 50pt season under his belt.

Even if they want to rebuild, why would they trade a 22 year old RD who could be a great player to have coming out of a rebuild? Assuming it's a prototypical 5 year rebuild, they'll be coming out of it and into their contending window when Dobson enters his prime at 27. Chicago seemingly didn't understand this concept, but I don't see why the Islanders wouldn't understand, and I think they'd be more likely to search for a similar return for Pulock/Pelech as they'll be in their early-to-mid thirties when the Islanders expect to exit a rebuild.

Isles aren’t moving Dobson, and this is way too much to give up
