I know that everybody is getting sick of seeing it, but I wanted to post my take on what it *COULD* look like for this type of deal for Robertson to Buffalo.
Just as a note, I don't think that this will happen at all, but still fun to look at different possibilities.
People keep using the term "an Eichel like return"
1. A Roster player (career ~0.5 PPG middle six player) = Tuch
2. Young Top 6 Center Prospect = Krebs
3. Top 10 Protected First Round Pick
4. Second Round Pick
In this case
1. Olofsson, brings a different skill set to the table than Tuch, albeit slightly less valuable / talented
2. Ostlund = Top 6 center prospect drafted in the middle of the first round in 2022 Draft
3. Make the 2023 1st pick Top 5 protected --> A first round pick from Buffalo going into this season would appear more valuable than a first round pick from Vegas going into last season. Not to mention 2023 looking like a significantly stronger class.
4. Ryan Johnson --> Unsigned, but If he does sign you get a near NHL ready LD, if not you get a second round pick Comp.
IMO the Sabres would have to add a bit more here to account for a few things, including:
1. Jack's Injury at the time of trade (However Vegas wasn't making that trade without confidence that he was going to return 100% but I digress)
2. A more competitive trade market
Things that could be used as sweeteners to accomodate:
1. Isak Rosen = First Round Pick in 2021 LW
OR
1. Casey Mittlestadt
2. 2023 2nd Round Pick
