Obviously a lot of things can happen so its a guessing game but this would be optimal IMHO.
- Line up below is to start year assuming IR guys aren't ready to start year and Slafkovsky goes to AHL simply to start the year.
- First IR returnee, approx 1 week in, replaces Pezzetta in lineup.
- Second IR returnee, approx 2 weeks in, replaces forward who is struggling the most at that time.
- Third IR returnee, approx 3 weeks in (~Nov 1), replaces next struggling forward.
- At this point, approx 13 games in, we either have injuries to good roster players that the good scratches can get in full time and replace them AND/OR players who we want to trade have increased their value enough to warrant trades to other team who may have suffered injuries.
- Once at least 2 of the forward group are traded/waived/etc, hopefully Hoffman and Armia, and then Slafkovsky can be brought up from the AHL (assuming he's dominating if not he can stay there for the year).
- Leaving the healthy forward line group of: (Lines aren't perfect)
