In this ACGM, assume the Sharks keep Bordeleau, Holtz, and Eklund cooking in the AHL to give them additional pro experience and, more importantly, protect their confidence from the losing the big club will be facing.

This team would be hideous in the regular season... and with Bedard and Fantili available in the 2023 draft that's the point. This would not only give SJ a fighting chance in the lottery, but also $23M in open cap pre-buyouts to reimagine SJ's core.

After the season:
- Ask Vlasic to retire in exchange for full $21M plus interest after 10 years deferral. If he refuses, buy him out to clear out defense logjam.
- Look for potential trade partners for Couture. Be prepared to retain up to 35% of cap hit.
- Qualify Merkley, Reedy, and one of Mann or Makiniemi (contingent on AHL performances).
- Ask Hertl and EK65 about comfort in being leaders for a re-emerging Sharks team that would be inexperienced in NHL level. If either isn't comfortable (I presume Hertl would be, EK65 I'm not so sure), look to get them to waive NMC for a trade.
