Super Fun Trade That Everyone Will Hate

I mean... it just doesn't help solve any of their issues. You're gonna do any sort of trade with a good player, you need a net inflow of assets, as opposed to hemorrhaging prospects. And the Avs really should hang on to MacKinnon and Duchene; there's no guarantee that Jost or Compher can play 2C right out of the gate next year, and insulating them would probably be better for their development.

The Avs have a lot of issues throughout their lineup and in general, and if they're gonna rebuild, they need to do it properly (i.e. mostly through good drafting and the occasional smart trade).

The team certainly has a lot of question marks, but there's good pieces already in place. The Avs really need people to put the puck into the net and this trade accomplishes that.

Yeah Aho ain't going anywhere. And trading Faulk just creates massive hole on our top 4 since we don't have anybody to replace him. Punch of prospects and Duchene doesn't cut it.

The Hurricanes love collecting prospects more than making the playoffs :] Meloche can replace that production in like four years

The truth is just one of Aho or Faulk is an overpayment for Duchene.
