SIgned a couple of free agent's to rather realistic contracts. Overpaid maybe a little for Trocheck. Wings are under the cap floor and have to spend and there's not a whole lot of players available. I could see Steve Yzerman go for a couple of veteran 30+,33+ middle 6 forwards, but there is a log jam of forwards there already, with Vrana, Berggren, Fabbri, Soderblom, and possibly Pontus Andreasson, so I don't think he will do that.
Defensemen
I signed Zadorov. Big LD, and could be a good defensive linemate for Hronek.
I think Simon Edvinsson will go straight to the NHL. I put him with Seider on the top line. If Seider can carry Dekeyser, he can carry Simon.
Albert Johansson might go straight to the NHL as well if he has gained some weight. I put him on the third pairing to protect him.
Forwards
As mentioned, I signed Trocheck to a 6 year, $8M cap hit. Will slot in nicely at 2C.
Berggren will make the move to the NHL next season, and I think Soderblom will do the same.
Pontus Andreasson will probably start the season in GR, unless Zadina is traded and Fabbri is not ready.
I know I have three scratched forwards in Sundquist, Veleno and Zadina. One of them or Pius Suter, or Rasmussen should be traded. Rasmussen showed some promise, so I'd keep him over the others, but then again, he'd probably fetch the best return.
Fabbri should be on LTIR, and Smith/Erne should not get roster spots over Veleno/Sundqvist/Zadina. Soderblom is unlikely to head straight to the NHL also.
That said, it's nice to see an ACGM that's holistic, with fairly realistic FA contracts, without any trades.
Vincent Trocheck reportedly wants $7,000,000 7 years according to Cane fans.
No thanks on the long term Zadorov signings, We have Edvinsson. Johansson and Wallinder coming up in 1-3 years or so. Zadorov for 2 yeas would be fine.
