Description

This won't happen because his contract is backloaded and would likely be too expensive for the Sens to consider but since Dadanov originally signed his contract with the Sens his NTC wouldn't have them blocked as a trading partner for Vegas, If the Knights want to activate Martinez (or Stone but would require more moves) this season, they need to clear that contract. Trades are still allowed after the deadline, it just means Dadanov can't play until next Fall and Ottawa has more than enough cap space.

The Sens re-acquiring Dadanov from Vegas and picking up so many additional assets would be hilarious but I know it won't happen.

What I think might happen is Vegas has to get rid of 5m in cap. Teams can still make trades, it's just is the players(s) traded can no longer play this season or post season.
Vegas has to get rid of 5m in cap. So they trade 5m upcoming UFA with no trade restrictions Reilly Smith, One cap with cap will take him for a third rounder.

PS is Melnyk cheap? Really aren't Senator fans glad he didn't overpay for Erik Karlsson? Mark Stone, he was an upcoming UFA that was going to resign.
