IMO if DAL is looking to go long term with Robertson (which they should) if it’s an 8 year deal it’s going to start with a 9. Jason is right there with Kaprizov, Rantanen, Marner, Panarin, Kane.

Svechnikov new deal certainly helps ( 8 x 7.75) but Dallas have to consider Rantanen and Kaprizov as legitimate comps for Robertson. Robertson plays a bit less than both of those players, but produces more even in those limited minutes.

This will be an interesting contract negotiations

Well we have about 2 million+ in extra cap, so you have the availability to bump that 7.75 to 9.

Would rather it be on the lower end, but as long as it's below 10 million I'd be good with it.

Brady’s and Svech new deals will help, I just think Robertson is above both those guys.

Not taking anything away, I honestly like DAL future

I would rather extend right now Pavelski for 1 year at 7M$ than to invest in another old timer for 3 years.

I would not touch Subban with a 3459 feet pole. Go fetch Shultz instead or Manson.

And maybe, we should trade one of our best forward prospect in Stankoven-Johnston-Bourque for a equal quality propsect at the D position. I am thinking here of a Seth Jones-Ryan Johansen type of trade.

This all depending on our draft ranking and the players we could get. In other words, no sense in trading one of our forward Gem if we can draft THE D Gem.

1. In this scenario Pavs is chasing for the cup, he'd be singing with contenders/the team he's traded to. Also Giroux is getting signed to the same contract Pavs signed and at a similar age as when Pavs singed his contract with us.

2. Subban brings offence, a trait that Manson and Shultz don't. Shultz I can somewhat understand, but Manson is just another grit grinding physical dman that we don't need.

3. Absolutely not, those 3 should not be moved. If a prospect is to be moved it'd be someone not named Bourque, Stankoven, Johnston and Harley.

4. Hopefully we can get a early pick in this year's draft.
