Anaheim would take that deal. (We could find a home for Ritchie.) Vancouver wouldn't.

I understand Van declining this offer but some the return that many fans believe JT will return is nuts! I believe the will get the somewhere around the Taylor Hall to Ari trade.
Hall was coming off the MVP and was traded in mid December and had three mil retained.

I understand Hall was a UFA but that was tons of time (conditions) for them to sign him. People saying that JT will get a better return than Jack Eichel is cray to me.

Firstly Buffalo traded Hall and got next to nothing, Eichel was traded hurt and unless things change he may or may not end up playing this year which means that they would be burning a year of his contract. Miller is currently healthy and producing points which gives Vancouver an upper hand. you also have to take into account that when Vancouver traded for Miller is was playing on the third line, and getting 40 points; now that he is playing consistent top 6 minutes 60+ points is his threshold. So to think that getting a 1st and two decent prospects with a possible salary dump for the trading partner without salary retention is nuts is not understanding what he brings to the team that would be getting him.

Secondly the biggest issue I have with the Tor package is that Robertson has been injured more than he has been healthy and so that type of player is not one whom the Canucks would deem viable. One of Liljegren or another defensive prospect would be more attractive to Van

Did you ready my post??? First off I agreed with Van declining the trade offer from the Leafs posted as it really did not fix any issue outside of a late first and at this point question mark prospect for the reason you stated

Second, I pointed to the Hall trade from NJD to Ari as it was Hall coming off an MVP season and traded with 30-35 games left and time to resign him- as you can see below not a bad return

Nick Merkley · 1st rd pick
Nathan Schnarr · 3rd pick
Kevin Bahl · 2nd rd pick
2020 1st round pick (ARI - #18 - Dawson Mercer) [Conditional]*
2021 3rd round pick (ARI - #75 - Ryder Korczak) [Conditional]***
*Conditions: If Arizona's 2020 1st selection is in the top three, New Jersey will receive Arizona's 1st round pick in 2021
Result: New Jersey will receive Arizona's 2020 1st round pick.
***Conditions: The 3rd round pick can upgrade to a 2nd if the Coyotes win a playoff round OR if Taylor Hall re-signs in Arizona. The pick upgrades to a 1st if Hall re-signs AND the Coyotes win a playoff round.

Third- Even if JE is lost for this season he has four years remaining and would give him tons of time to recover/repair if needed.
JE for 4.5 years and one being a wash/covered by insurance and Cap relief
