raty probably gets his 9 games before the contract slides but i bet he either spends most of the year in the A or he stays in liiga for another year. in this scenario we also draft brad lambert because nepotism and also i think he's really good but he also stays either in finland or comes to play in the A. i kept the cap flat because i wasn't sure if it would actually end up going up but it is possible.

I think it would be a good idea for a trade for Samsonov. However, I think that we should not give up draft picks for a new defenseman. I think that there will be good UFAs in the market in the off season. As well as that, re-signing Parise I don't think is a good idea, unless he gets more than 8-9 goals, then I think Lou should consider that.

i looked at the FA market but i just don't see anyone that i'd really like there aside from lindholm or maybe leddy if he wants to come back on a cheaper deal. i really like sanheim and think he fits everything the team needs, but i totally see where you're coming from on spending assets. i like parise as a bottom sixer or on the fourth line, he's solid defensively and plays with a lot of effort, i'd bring him back at league min if he wants to return but he's also old and not really a long-term option there, i just feel like martin's somewhat cooked at this point so we should use someone else and i really don't like ross.

1st and 4th lines are solid, same with the D. Trading for Sanheim would be a good idea, but I doubt they'd trade him in the division.

The isles desperately need to cut ties with Bailey, he's an anchor at this point in his career and I don't see how the isles can contend with him in the middle 6. He drags down whatever line he's on. Palmieri isn't great but he at least provides value.

Raty will end up sticking with the isles IMO but he'll start on the wing. it will take an injury for him to get a shot at center but he's good at face-offs which the the coaching staff cares about so it's possible he stays at C and they shift Pageau to wing.

I do agree that Parise is really good defensively and does want to be better than he is currently, but yes, he is older, and there is no long term option for him. I would go for Will Butcher or McNabb for a defenseman. And for a left winger, if Parise plays better the second half, go with him for one more year, but if not I'd go for a big UFA. Palat or Burakovsky

To add btw, I think that the Islanders should aim for Issac Howard for the draft, and I think that Mattias Janmark would also be a good UFA for the Islanders
