They built such a boring trash team especially based off what was available

From day one I have not understood this team. Hiring Ron Francis was questionable but then Dave Hakstol made everyone say why, was there no one else? Also, the picks that they made could have somewhat have been justified if they had made trades and tried to build for the future. At the end of the day they picked players with little upside on a low capping hoping to gain an advantage from their cap space. Well, what have they done with that advantage? Nothing and they are still bad. Tarasenko, nieterreiter, all of their goalies were their biggest roster mistakes
