The devils need a star winger, they are flooded with middle 6/bottom 6 wingers. Only way this is happening is if devils give Severson and a few more pieces for a guy like Nylander, which toronto obviously won't do. A Severson trade to Toronto is unrealistic.

^ Agree with this. They'd likely want a sniper back if they were trading their #2 d-man with term. Or very good RD prospect/young player.

Holl, Anderson, Mikheyev would not really move the needle much in filling our holes.

Not sure what the devils are tho. Are they in win now mode or still rebuilding? Cause if they are rebuilding, then a high prospect winger would do. Maybe someone like Amirov?

I wouldn't say they are in a win now mode, but definitely not in rebuilding either. I think ownership wants to be a true contender next year. If they make playoffs this year and lose in 5 games in the first round, thats a win. Next year they are going to want more than that tho.

Because of that they probably don't care for aquiring prospects or picks. They need a star winger to play with Hughes and probably Holtz next year, thats why devils fans are all over signing Gaudreau or Forsberg in free agency.
