Under the old Regime, it may have looked a little like this....
Over paying for a great season or aging vets who just don't have it, trading productive players for 'futures' (sometimes it worked, sometimes not).... this is what we were used too, scary.
----------
"we like the way Wideman competes against the refs in the league, adds some size on the back end and toughness"
"Markov has shown in season past he knows how to run a PP, he will fit right in with our group of guys. He has that leadership quality, been around the game a long time"
"Elliot has always been a great goalie, we are happy to have him as a Flyer, with this defence and him in net, we will go places"
"Very please to have Eaves on the team, esp as a veteran player, he finally hit some strides at 32 years of age, and doesn't look to be slowing down. We feel comfortable adding him with his caphit and term to our group."
"We wanted to get some skill so we went a different direction with the Schenn trade, we gave up a 1st line pt producer in our league, with a good young C in Point and a potential winger with Nammy - we also get a 2nd round pick back, b/c you all know how much I love to trade those"
"adding Skille to ride the pine will show the rest of the guys how to compete in practice, you need those guys to push the team, we like what he brings to the tink on a day to day basis"
"I like our team on paper, we are built from top to bottom to compete every night, given what all the players bring to the table we have collected alot of intangibles"
"We aren't worried about the cap space as of right now, we will deal with it when the time comes. It is what it is"
