I feel like next year might be the time to make a splash in free agency. Between Raymond and Seider helping take us to the next level I think we are close to making a splash.

It would be an added bonus if we tank the rest of the season and get a top 5 pick in the draft this year.

I wouldn't pay Chiarot that much, and we should probably only get one of Hertl/Trocheck, but I like the signings from an "all in" perspective.

Not a bad plan, but I think you'd have to dish out more term on Lindholm and Hertl for sure. Hertl money-wise might even come in closer to Zibanejad, who I feel like isn't a bad comp.

Just my opinion but if they "tank" the rest of this season then Yzerman won't be able to attract that UFA talent to sign in Detroit.
