Though it might be a fair trade, the Leafs have good LHD prospects. Prefer that a RHD comes Leafs way for top prospect Kapanen. And the Leafs really want Nylander to become centre along with Matthews and Kadri, which opens up a potential sniper in Kapanen to play RW with Marner and Brown.

Kapanen wouldn't get you Pesce though. Proven top-4 D for a prospect is not a trade the Canes are in a position to make.
