Ideally, the Rielly trade is made in the next few weeks and the Holl trade follows right behind.

This defence core should be very good defensively, but offensively is a different story. The team would miss Rielly's ability to move the puck up the ice and generate offence, but it will get by, as Tanev, Muzzin, Brodie and Dermott aren't awful offensively.

Holl was traded to make up room and because he has proven to be very inconsistent the past 2-3 years. He has not started the season strong, and Liljegrin has been pushing for a starting spot, so why not try? He looks good with Muzzin plus he is cheaper.

Ritchie only gets traded if he continues to underperform. But if he is traded, the Rotes can trade him to a contender for a third and more.

Kessel brings back a familiar face and gives us someone who is a natural at putting the puck in the back of the net. I wouldn't be surprised if Marner takes Nylander's spot to give that line a great playmaker, but both lines would still be lethal.
