I absolutely have no idea why Ottawa would do this?
The reason why we see Erik Brannstrom in every trade proposal is because Ottawa don't want him to play on RD (CF is WRONG listing him as RD). He's a LD and in Sens evaluation, it wouldn't work for him on the right side
So there's this and also that there's 2 guys in the plans for the LD named Thomas Chabot and Jake Sanderson. That's 2 horses that if you really wanted could both play 30 mins (but obviously not ideal)
There's no point having Brannstrom if all you have to give him is 3rd pairing and 2nd PP...
As for Guhle, what would be the point to add him? They have a guy named Tyler Kleven who is an excellent skater and even more physically imposing. He's actually terrifying to play against. And his offensive game is developing. Another kid the Sens are pretty high on.
I like Ylönen, he's a great skater and plays quick. He's actually a bit similar to what we first expected to get with Jonathan Davidsson, but we'll never know as he has never been the same player after his concussion issues. I wouldn't mind him. I would trade Brown for him 1 for 1 if the Habs were a Western team but within the same division, it actually has potential to blow up in Sens face
Nothing against Mysak but it doesn't accomplish much to add him. Prospect pool is already stacked, he'd just add to the number's game. Sens would take a pick instead as they could mak their own choice. In the 2020 draft, they traded up to get Tyler Kleven, not Mysak who went a few spots after.
I don't know but that's not how the Senators should trade Brannstrom and Brown. If you didn't find the right deal, just go into next season with the intention of building their trade value up as you know they're not in your long term plans. But looking at how they have handled Rudolfs Balcers last season, I'm never too usre with Dorion. Hopefully he learned a little bit more.
