Description
Colorado's asking price is a young NHL roster player, a top prospect, a top defenseman and a first. Now realistically speaking, unless we are talking about McDavid, that is not going to happen. This trade is as close as it gets. Karlsson is very good young player with room to grow. Milano is a top prospect that will flourish with MacKinnon. Carlsson, although not a flashy offensive defenseman, is going to be a dominant stay at home type which should help solidify the backend. Forsberg gives Colorado a young goaltender who is ready for immediate playing time in the NHL.

The starting ask would be Murray, Milano, and a 1st. Prospects are great and all, but they're all unproven. If we're giving up a 30 goal scorer signed to a cheap deal for the next two seasons, you're gonna have to give up something you don't want to.

See you all have it wrong. When you are trading a player, the goal is not to damage the other team. The goal is to get the players to help your team. All of these players offered address the needs of Colorado. They are young cheap players with upside. When you trade a player like Duchene the return is even if you acquire one player. If a team tries to acquire a package of players, that value is diluted. People need to understand the art of trading.

I would be jumping for joy if this were to happen - but I don't think Colorado would bite on this. They'd want Murray in any trade involving Duchene
