In year 2 the following moves have to be made

Trade Dumba to someone on his 10 team, or ask Zuccarello to waive his NMC
Greenway either gets traded (assuming he has a big year this year) or resigned on a similar deal for 2-3 years.
Bjugstad and Sturms roster spots will be taken by players on similar deals that are younger (Beckman, Giroux, Khavonov, etc), if they want more $ elsewhere
Year 3
Prospects such as Firstov, Khusnutdinov, Hentges, McBain, Novak need to be pushing for roster spots, as well as players already signed on their ELCs.


Long and short of it, this is tough to swing, and I do not envy people trying to figure out the cap.

Just a note on your description. Zucc moves to a M-NTC next year so he wouldn’t necessarily have to waive. And for both him and Dumba, I believe it’s 10 teams they can’t be traded to, not 10 that they’d allow. So you’d have 22 teams to work out a trade with.

Did not know that about Zucc, that makes things significantly easier for the people working the Cap. I think he would be the no brainer to move out in that case then

Yeah his flips to a M-NTC next year, which is very helpful. He’s the no brainer in my eyes too, but I’ve taken a lot of flak for saying that on other platforms.
