Gee, if I was the Leafs, I would even consider leaving Marner exposed. If selected, I might be able to 11m X 4 better than having Marner on the team.

On your roster, I would prefer to sign Hyman at 5,5m instead of paying Landeskog nearly that much , Then will the 3.5m in cap saving, get another good piece.

well market value for hyman is 6 x $6.5m (see gallagher and kreider). i don't think 5.5.m is an option. besides landeskog is a beast in the playoffs while hyman and marner weren't.

I really think Gallagher and Kreider contracts are too high. Kreider was signed before the Covid cap cutbacks. Gallagher might look good now, but I wonder if the value will hold up.
We'll see I just think players in late twenties aren't going to be getting just long term or even $$$ high deals they once got. It's the young RFAs that are getting close to UFA. We'll see.
