If seattle takes Holtby this trade becomes a possibility. Arizona holds zero leverage in this trade, Jim can just walk like last year if he doesnt like the price.

If i was Jim I would also look at what it would cost for some salary retention of 1.25M per year.

    i don't hate OEL as a player, but even with that salary retained the term is a problem

    Why are you trading for a LD (who's game is declining) on a massive contract with term when we have Hughes and Rathbone (and potentially Juolevi) all requiring development and playing time? RD and C are this teams most immediate needs by a long shot. OEL has always been a ridiculously poor fit for this team no matter how much Arizona retains and the fact that Benning was even entertaining this last year shows the lack of acuity in the front office.

    100% disagree. The trade he pulled off was better than I thought could be possible. Does losing the 9oa and a 2nd next year suck? Yeah.. But we fill two roster holes and got a whole lot better. Love the Garland addition, might be worth the 1st by himself. Time will tell!
