Tampa can't afford Shattenkirk, You're already over the cap and still need 3 more players. Filppula is more then likely gone this summer. Killorn will probably be claimed by Vegas this summer.

You don't need to carry 23 players. You have to have a minimum of 20, which is there. And who on earth is taking Filppula? Study up before you say stupid stuff

Wouldn't shock me at all if Filppula is traded to be honest, if you watch the Lightning you would know that he is playing his best hockey since the first season he joined the Bolts. Its hard to fine a veteran that can play C and W and eat up 18-20M a night playing both defensively sound and 40-50 points. While 5M is alot its actually on par with a player of his caliber, he is no where near as bad as you make him out to be. Now Callahan that is a whole nother story onto itself... lol.

To the team if Johnson is being traded to St. Louis it would have to be for a young dman with term or RFA rights. Johnson is an RFA and will bring back more then a Shattenkirk rental in my opinion.

Would St. Louis do a Johnson for Paranko swap? I doubt it so I don't see a deal here.
