      Keefe has said since the day he was hired that he wants a defensive shutdown type of 3rd line and you give him arguably 2 or the worst defensive players in the league, and a centre that's maybe average in defence but is more suited for a top 6 skilled position and doesn't ply centre on a regular basis?

      Then you trade 2 good depth pieces to "anywhere for anything" and you don't replace that depth?

      How is any of this considered "realistic"?

      Detroit got a 4th for being the middle man in the Savard deal. That was a salary retention for a few months, now you're proposing to offer a 6th for a salary retention of two full seasons. Detroit might accept if you were to offer a 1st round pick, otherwise it's a no.
