I am guessing Leafs were initially in on Palmieri, but weren’t at the end. Maybe Palmieri didn’t waive, maybe price got too high, who knows.

But, the last day or two, everything pointed to Leafs no longer pursuing him. Of the final three teams, none were Canadian teams (I believe it was COL, BOS and NYI). And Dubas gave an interview saying he was not pursuing a top forward (and Galchenyuk was the guy).

Maybe they go after Hall though. It was well known, even when Hall was with Devils, he wanted to be in Toronto.
