He’s under contract for this year and next. If the Leafs think they can win a cup and think Keumper gives them a better chance than Anderson a first round pick is nothing to give up.

He might be signed for this year and next but if the Leafs got him then they'd have to expose him or Campbell at the expansion draft and they aren't exposing Soup. Also if it was just a 1st and Freddy I'd still say no cause that's still a lot for a rental. If there was a condition that if neither goalie gets claimed then yeah I'm all for it but you can't do that. I'd rather a rental goalie like Ullmark or Raanta or Bernier. Someone that can play a decent amount of games that the Leafs can get cheap and just let go of.
