Description

I think Kaut is expendable because of the young prospects we have coming like Newhook and guys in Ahl, even if garland is going to play on 3rd line in the playoffs if injuries happen like last year they could use him in the top 6 and he will only make them deeper. Just like Tampa they stacked up for one year and looked how that turned out. I hate to break up the 3rd line since they have been playing so good but Bernier was good for the avs when he played with them in 18 so I believe he will be good and he has been good so far this season on a terrible wings team

Bernier yes. Garland no. They have to sign Makar, Grubauer, Landeskog, Jost, decide on trying to re-sign Saad, they don’t have the cap space to make it all work without having guys on ELC’s next year playing like Kaut, Byram, probably Bowers. Also knowing the cap is going to be flat for 3-4 more years that means MacKinnon has to be signed at the end of it. Don’t get me wrong Garland is a nice player but he hasn’t even had a 40pt season and where does he fit in COL?

If EJ waives it’s for the XD not to trade him. Being ruthless the best thing that could maybe happen is he is LTIR and doesn’t play again and he gets a role with the team. Garland again nice player but 20% of his pts have come on the PP and he wouldn’t log nearly the time on the PP with the Avs he has with the Coyotes, and don’t forget Newhook is going to be with the Avs next season as well . I just don’t see it being a fit.
