This is more about how good our roster could look, the specific signings are debatable

If we get rid of Neal there's an insane amount of cap space. There's no reason the Oilers can't be a top contender in a scenario like this. Money might be spent a bit differently but I think these are reasonable options. I know it's very unlikely this all happens but imo keeping Neal is weighing us down

Before you say Danault is underpaid, he's underperforming this year and doesn't have a goal. I signed Danault but there's a few other 3C's to consider

Another option I considered was not signing a top 6 winger and spending less on a 3C to sign Hamilton instead, but I feel the Oilers would want to spend big money on a defensive d-man, Nurse Bear and Bouch can run a PP

If the Oilers can't sign one of the 3 or 4 legit starters during the offseason this could look a bit different
