The thinking here it to build off chemistry. The Jets have proven excellent chemistry with Scheifele/Wheeler, Ehlers/Stastny and Copp/Lowry. I think Connor and Dubois have great potential to mesh as well. Off that base, I tried to find the best option to fill out the lines.

I chose:

Cole Perfetti - After a year with the Moose, I believe Perfetti will be ready for the NHL. High Hockey IQ and should figure out how to best support 55-26 quickly.

Jansen Harkins - Maurice favorite and has the speed and tenacity to keep up with Connor and Dubois. It would require him to play on his off wing which may be a challenge.

Jaden Schwartz - Regular linemate of Stastny in St. Lou. UFA. Short term deal to put up quality #s.

Mason Appleton - Easy choice. The line of Copp-Lowry-Appleton is as consistent as the Jets have seen in recent years.

Expansion Draft - I see the Jets protecting Scheifele, Dubois, Connor, Ehlers, Wheeler, Copp and Harkins up front and Morrissey, DeMelo and Pionk on the back end. Helly in net. Seattle will choose between Appleton, Niku, Stanley, Beaulieu and Berdin. I see them going with Niku who has the highest potential of the 4.

Savard was rumoured to be one of Dubois' best friends in Columbus. I could see Chevy making a push to help sign Dubois long-term.

Heinola, Samberg, Beaulieu and Stanley will earn their playing time behind Morrissey.

Biggest problem with this roster is ego. No line would be playing more than 18 minutes a night or less than 12. Can everyone accept that the notion of top 6 and bottom 6 would be blurred? Maurice would have his hands full with disgruntled forwards but hopefully winning makes the pill easier to swallow.
