I don't think you paid enough for Ekholm.... to the predators...

If you are going to lose Gryz anyways, why not just include him in the preds trade. I think something could be had there. Take out Bjork and sub in Gryz instead and there might be something to work with.

Or just don’t do it at all.

Maybe long term? But there's no question who the better defenseman is. It makes some sense given the core is aging and there might be a need for a final push. I have seen over time that the bruins fanbase here is pretty resistant to change. I'm not watching these games as frequently as you guys, of course, but I can't help but see the age of the core climb. If this is a piece for one final hardcore push, I don't think its too much to pay or unreasonable.

Ekholm is the better player now in my opinion, but its a razor thin margin.
Then factor in the contract, grizz is the way to go.
Then look at the trade in reality being Kase, Bjork, Grzelcyk and a first, and it’s just a horrid concept.
