The final run of these. A continuation of this team: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1861050
We're getting into extreme projection territory so don't hold my feet to the fire too much on contracts. Thomas and Kyrou could both fall pretty much anywhere but I think this is likely.
Resigned Bozak for one year. Good enough unless his stats really take a dive in 20-21.
Let Binnington walk because he's good but not good enough to get paid much more than he is now and he'll want more. If he doesn't ask for too much of an increase I probably keep him.
Husso was the goalie of the future once. I'm here hoping he can be again. Signed Allen in FA as he's the perfect 1B (as we've seen).
My expansion protected list is in the PP/PK area. Would give Perron's spot to Schwartz or another top six foward if we have one or develop one by them. Seattle takes Sanford. I could also see them taking Gardiner. Whatever floats their boat.
Didn't fill out the depth guys because they could be literally anyone at this point, but I like to think Mac will have earned an everyday spot on the fourth line by then.
As you can see, there's plenty of space for Parayko's extension. This team is still missing a bonafide top six scoring forward. If we aren't going to re-sign Schwartz, I probably would have traded him for futures in the 2020 offseason and then tried to get Kilorn from Tampa, who is slightly (but not as slightly as you would think) less good but is cost controlled at a lower price for a few more years and who has a scoring touch. Or maybe Blais or Sanford go off in 20-21 and work their way into the future plans enough to take that spot. Either way, I think this team is set up very well (much better than the current team) to contend.
