I don't think this would ever happen but here's the thought process.

FLA is likely losing at least one of Hoffman or Dadanov so they'll be looking for some offense and still have Weegar and Stralman on their right side which would make Ekblad more expendable. This part of the trade is essentially Marner for Ekblad. In terms of actual salary, since Marner had such huge signing bonuses, despite his cap hit being so much higher the salary is essentially a wash over the course of the contact.

Bobrovsky + for Andersen would basically be the reverse of the Zaitsev/Ceci trade from Toronto's perspective. I think FLA wants out of the Bobrovsky contract to the point they would even be willing to retain half as it would save them something like 29 Million in real dollars over the course of the contract and Andersen is only owed 1 Million for his last season. FLA adds the 1st due to the size of the commitent and the risk Toronto is taking. It would be a massive gamble by Toronto to take on that commitment but if they think Bob can return to form after a down year and they currently have no grade A goalie prospect to take Andersen's spot after next season so it may be worth rolling the dice.
