Petry would be a major addition for them, they already have a great offense but have had trouble with their blueline. Petry have been a outstanding defenseman for the past 3 season ranking among the best in multiple categories. He can play big physical minutes. Vegas would extend him right away just like with Pacioretty deal.

Vegas isn’t in Montreal situation, they are a cup contender and have made move to keep that status. They have already move out Suzuki, Branstrom, and high draft pick to acquire impact players that where in their prime. They are in a all in mode for a couple more season. Their main core is in their prime so they don’t need much young prispect but more Nhl impact players at the moment just like Petry is and will be for a couple season.
