VAN number 1 priority is re-signing Markstrom and improving there defense. Hopefully Toffoli can be re-signed but it will be hard to get a deal done.

I've heard that Canadiens fans don't really want, or need Benn back. Probably retaining half his salary and moving him for a 6th at the deadline is a smart choice, as many teams would be in need of a 7th d-man in case of injuries. The same goes for Baer, but I don't want him to sit in the minors for half the season. I say we try to move Roussel if Ferland is cleared for next year, or Beagle, but he can actually take faceoffs well.

All depends on MTL offseason, if we have capspace, we could have Kulak and Benn sitting in the press box, if Romanov isn’t totally ready or Juulsen isn’t back 100% healthy, Benn might have a chance to play on the 3rd pairing and he did ok when he was with us
