Rangers trade for Eichel. This scenario is contingent upon Henrik Lundqvist retiring. The Lundqvist trade here was made to simulate him retiring because his salary would come off of the books and there is no option for that in this tool.

With that being said, Staal and Smith are gone (bought out) and DeAngelo/Strome/Georgiev get resigned. Fast is out because of being a literal traffic cone on the ice putting up midget numbers while playing alongside arguably the league's MVP Artemi Panarin. Also, even more young talent fills in the blue line from the farm system/reserves.

For the Eichel trade the Rangers give up two of their larger assets in the minors along with 3 coming first rounders (5 firsts total if you count where Andersson/Kravtsov were drafted). Let me know if you think the asking price is too light for Eichel. Overalll, I think on paper this looks pretty feasible IF Lundqvist retires. A BIG if. The goal is to get him to pull a Luongo, which could happen.
