Why would Toronto give you a pick when they have younger better players competing for spots in their bottom 6?

why does toronto want Sorensen?

I don't really care what pick it is.

I've done past trades where it's Sorensen+a 3rd for Johnsson and Toronto fans were fine with that. You guys only have 3 LWs signed for next season. Obviously Mikheyev will probably be the 4th, but Sorensen could be a very solid option to be a depth forward.

people were fine with it because that gives the leafs a johnsson replacement at a lower cap hit. Even though Johnson is better than Sorensen, I mean i'd never do it but at least there is some cap obsessed logic with that trade.

That's true but he could be a healthy scratch. I could trade him to another team though, no problem.
