Holden is the 6/7 D. They want his veteran experience in case one of the rookies slip up or there's an injury. They aren't getting rid of him simply because he isn't a top 4 D. He has a role to play and can.

You don't have to be a fan to recognize he can fill in the bottom pairing, middle pairing, left, right, PK and hold the fort for a while to allow injured players to heal. And he can be scratched and play on little notice if needed.

Cousins could get that money. He had about as good a season as Stephenson had and had better seasons prior, though Stephenson had more time here.
