Hire Gallant, demote Colliton, fire Bowman, hire ?????. Keep scouting staff. They predict it the cap will be between 84-88 million so lets take the most conservative number to be safe. Dont know if Seabrook/Shaw/CDH will all be back but we're cap compliant and thats all that matters.
Saw Jets fans complaining about Lowry and I know they need Left d so Maatta trade makes some sense. Lowry can be 3C and teach Dach the ways of being a big center in the NHL because the poor kid gets floored every game but he keeps truckin.
Smith is a good PKer and player he is just a cap casualty for the team. If we had space I'd keep him personally. Sikura is doing good in Rockford but he wont get time here so might as well trade him to a team that will play him. I'd prefer J. Boqvist but Kuokkanen is fine too.
We arent getting Lehner back even though he said he'd take less money but big brain Bowman traded him for, I guess the best he could get. The return on goalies isnt great historically but I mean, Vezina finalist, jennings co-winner, and Masterton winner and you can only get that? Jesus. I want to see what Subban can do before I judge him, Ill be optimistic. Crow says he can still be a starter and hes played fine this year so why not sign him again? If Markstrom is available then we should target him but he'll probably be Nucks starter. Holtby might be another good option. Or we could actually trade for Sorokin... The goalie market will be hot and a lot of teams will be in the mix. Subban/Lankinen/Delia can fight for backup.
Saw an article saying we should sign Kubalik to a 1 year deal like William Karlsson to see what he can do but It'd be better to sign him to a bridge deal for short term so that we can still control his rfa rights when Bowman inevitably trades away his rights for another under preforming player. But, we should sign Strome to a 1 year deal, because hes been mediocre since returning. Part of it is playing on the wing and colliton being clueless that it wasnt working at all but I also wonder if he is still recovering from injury or playing injured in hopes that we make the playoffs. I think he can still be a solid 2C until Dach takes the role from him in the future.
Caggs has been great since returning, hes like shaw lite. Hopefully if/when shaw comes back the coach puts them on the same line to be pests. Highmore wasnt noticeable at first but now you can see the effort, drive, and competitiveness he has every shift, he deserves a spot on the roster. KoekKoek has been good as a bottom pairing guy, he has a little offensive upside as well. Feel bad for a player like Carlsson who has been really good as well but probably wont be on the roster next year because of the LHD log jam. Nylander had an impressive game last night, if he could bring that effort and awareness to just 50% of his shifts he'd be a great player. Nylander should finish out the rest of the year in the top 6 just to see if he has learned anything.
What are the Devils organizational needs? It seems you have a lot prospects already wasnt sure what to give up to get J.Boqvist or Koukkanen.
Right Wing and Right D. After Pamieri we have Josh Anderson and Potentially Nate Bastian as natural RWs. Not good. Goose has been playing on the right and so has Bratt but they are not playing the natural position. After PK and Severson we have nothing in the pipeline remotely close to ready at RD.

Would you do Nylander, Smith, and 4th for J. Boqvist and a 6th?
