Description

As you can see, this team is so deep its crazy. We have two NHL caliber players being scratched. This is fantastic because players like Sheary, Rodrigues, Simon, even Marleau to a point will be seriously fighting for rest of the season for a permanent spot in the lineup for the playoffs. There will be very little room for mistakes. Below are lines I think will be going into playoffs but obviously injuries will always happen so guys will be in and out. For example, there is a full NHL caliber line being scratched and a pretty good 3rd pairing being scratched along with a good backup in desmith in the minors in case of goalie injuries. Feeling good about this team for sure. Deep on every poisition.

I still haven't figured out the compliant roster. Lafferty was sent down but when all but jake come back its still a 24 man roster. Not sure who the plan is to waive unless they're not planning on activating one or more of them until play offs which seems risky with guys not having game legs. I woud assume Riikola gets waived because Sullivan seems to trust him the least.

After the deadline the roster size no longer matters. A team is allowed to have as many players called up as they want as long as they remain under the cap. but when the playoffs start, cap space also becomes irrelevant and you are allowed to have as many players you want and they dont have to fit under the cap. Which is why when playoffs start teams will call up their entire AHL roster just in case assuming their AHL team is not currently in their own playoff run. At least this is what i think. Someone correct me if im wrong

I knew that the playoff roster wasn't restricted by the cap, but I didn't realize the roster limit changed after the deadline.
